What is Shockwave Therapy?

An advanced, non-invasive treatment that uses precisely targeted acoustic waves to stimulate healing in injured tissues. Utilizing different frequencies and amplitudes we are able to restart and accelerate healing at the cellular level.

What is Shockwave Therapy used for?

Extremely effective for treating disorganized tissue. We are able to systemically break down scar tissue and adhesions, trigger vascularization and realign new healthy tissue. Commonly treated ailments include: myofascial trigger points, plantar fasciitis, patellar tendonopathy, hamstring tendonopathy, rotator cuff tendinopathy, calcific tendonitis, elbow epicondylitis, hip pain, etc.

What it feels like

Mild to moderate tapping sensation. Can be mildly uncomfortable depending on treatment area and impulse amplitude, but easily tolerated by most people. Sessions are quick, typically 5-10 minutes per treatment area. Treatments are given by pulse count, not by time. Working on one specific targeted area of tissue for all sessions, not entire length of tissue.

Treatment

Treatment is given in systemic progression. Not in one treatment. Though you may feel improvement after just one session, treatment takes multiple sessions. Typical sequence of treatment is mechanical disruption of chronic tissue (4-6 visits), neovascularization (1-2 visits), tissue remodeling (1-2 visits).
