What is Shockwave Therapy?
An advanced, non-invasive treatment that uses precisely targeted acoustic waves to
stimulate healing in injured tissues. These waves increase blood flow, break down scar tissue, and encourage your body’s natural repair processes.
What is Shockwave Therapy used for?
● Chronic tendon pain (tendonitis, tendinopathy)
● Plantar fasciitis (heel pain)
● Tennis elbow / Golfer’s elbow
● Shoulder pain (rotator cuff issues)
● Hip and knee pain
● Muscle tightness and trigger points
● Calcifications and scar tissue buildup
What it feels like
During treatment, a handheld device is applied to the affected area. You will feel a
series of rapid pulses or tapping sensations. Can be mildly uncomfortable depending on
treatment area and impulse amplitude, but easily tolerated by most people. Sessions are quick, typically 5–10 minutes per treatment area.
Treatment
Treatment is given in systemic progression, not in one visit. Though you may feel
improvement after just one session, treatment takes multiple sessions. Typical
sequence is mechanical disruption of chronic tissue, neovascularization, followed by
tissue remodeling.
